Gippsland Swimmers selected for  SV Development Squads

 

Swimming Victoria’s high performance “Development Pathway” provides a comprehensive suite of development squads and programs for up and coming swimmers.  Selection to these squads is through consideration of performances over the preceding season, based on a series of criteria, qualifying times and standards.

 

Twelve Gippsland swimmers have been successful in gaining selection into these squads for the 2010/11 season:

 

                Target 2012 Gold Squad                - Kate Sommerfield (Warragul)

                Target 2012 Silver Squad               - Georgia Tsebelis (Traralgon)

                Target 2010 Bronze Squad            - Philip Blunt (Morwell)

                                                                           - Lily Collins (East Gippsland Water Dragons)

                                                                           - Maggie O’Keefe (Traralgon)

                           - Trent Morrow (Traralgon)

Junior Development Squad                - Erin Roberts (Traralgon)

                     - Jess Norwood (Traralgon)

Country Squad                                    - Sean Bulmer (Warragul)

              - Jacob Mulqueen (Morwell)

              - Bowen Gough (South Gippsland Bass)

              - Elliot Shaw (Traralgon)

 

Swimmers attended an orientation program “The Big Day In” at Monash University on Saturday 07 August which provided up to date knowledge about training, racing, goal setting, drugs in sport and athlete career experience. 

 

Various workshops will be held throughout the coming season for Development Squad members.
